Anneli Boon is a mixed-media paper artist. Although she has lived in East Anglia since 1970, she was born in Karelia, and her Finnish roots continue to provide much of the inspiration for her work. In the past few years she has specialised in paper collage, using paper, paint and glue. This experimentation with materials and techniques has led to a highly personal style of composition, harmony and mood combined with asymmetrical balance of colour, shape and spacial relationship. She combines the layering of her own observations, memories, thoughts, imagination and dreams with seasonal qualities of landscape, and then reduces them to their basic elements. She also encourages viewers to visualise their own interpretation.

She graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a BA (Honours) in Art and Design where she gained an award for best overall performance. She also studied 'Artist in Education', Craft Skill in Stained Glass, Individual Dress Design and Realisation and Individual Knitwear Design and Realisation.

Since 1993 she has exhibited in London, Cambridge, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Bristol, Letchworth, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead, Cirencester, Stevenage, Liverpool, Newcastle upon Tyne and Olney. Work has also been commissioned and sold nationally and internationally to private and corporate collections, including Wessex Water (76 pieces), Nokia, Microsoft, KPMG, Radiant Networks, Global Crossing, Center Parcs and Ramada Hotel Group. She has also had work published in 'An Introduction to Mixed Media' by Michael Wright, published by Dorling Kindersley.
